God Bless was formed after Ahmed "Iek" Alba returned to Indonesia after several years in the Netherlands. He wanted to create his own group, which would be more serious. He returned from Holland with Ludwig Lemans (guitarist of Clover Leaf, Ike's band while in Holland). Ayek (deceased) later invited Fouad Hassan (drums) and Donny Fattah (bass) to form a band. This was the background to the formation of Crazy Wheels, before the band finally gave their first concert at TIM (Taman Ismail Marzuki) and then participated in the "Summer '28" music scene, which is a kind of "Woodstock" in Indonesian. In June 1974, Fuad Hassan and Soman Lubis (keyboards) were involved in a traffic accident in Tugu Pankoran, South Jakarta. May God have mercy on him, he too has gone through grief. Also, guitarist Ludwig Lemans has decided to leave God Bless. So Ahmed Albar and Dhoni Fattah remain in the squad. The jockey was asked to rejoin the field to fill the field. Jocky then invited Ian Antono (guitar) and Teddy Suzaia (drums) to join God's Blessings.

At first, God Bless was not a band. They are just a group that sings people's songs at every concert. The process of getting this legendary band into the studio began with trial and error. They write songs, then they write. They filmed it in the studio directed by Alex Kumara (professional presenter). These CDs found their way to PT Aquarius Musikindo because Suryoko, the leader of Aquarius, often played guitar at Yan's house. The friendship of the two is long-standing. And in 1975, Ishwar Ashirwad released his first album.


80's


Shortly before the production of the second album, Joki Suryoprazogo left the company and was replaced by Abadi Swesman, who joined in 1979 and participated in the production of Jermyn (1980). The Mirror Album (1980) was based on songs such as musicians, Anak Adam, Good Morning Indonesia or Sodom Gomorrah. In this album, the musical concept of God Bless has changed slightly, presenting a composition of song arrangements that seem more complex and require a higher level of performance. The album Mirror also represented God Bless's rebellion against the dominance of the record industry, which always forced commercialism due to the excitement of the market, which at the time was dominated by love-themed pop music. Two years after the release of Jermaine's album, Abadi Swesman was injured.


In the 1980s, a rock promoter from Surabaya, Log Jelebor, began intensively organizing rock festivals in Indonesia and started producing Allah Bur from his "long sleep", turning God's blessings into an "indispensable" song. His lineup at the festival featured many rock bands from Indonesia such as Grass Rock, Elpamus and Slank.


In addition to being a judge, God Bless finally released the album "Black Ants" in 1988, which exploded in the market with hits such as "Our Homes", "Black Ants" or Life. This album again sees a change in the concept of God Bless Music. It had a more progressive rock vibe to begin with, which evolved into something heavy with hard rock and heavy metal influences. The album became a source of inspiration for young people to continue their activities in the field of rock music.


However, after the release of the Black Ants album, Ian Antono announced his departure from God Bless. His position was later improved by the talented young guitarist Eet Sjahranie. In 1989, after joining Eet Sjahranie, he released the album Giant with the hit "Licking the Sun, March 1989 or Mystery". Eet Sjahranie managed to update Jan Antono's guitar sound and make it god bless more aggressive. Ian Antono himself went on to a successful solo career as a songwriter, arranger and producer after leaving Allah Barakat.


90's


After a long hiatus, God Bless reunited in 1997 with Et Sjahranie and Jan Antono. The 'seminar' they held during the Panchak resulted in an album called 'Apa Kabar'. However, this reunion was short-lived as Eat officially formed God Bless and focused on his band Eden, which released its first album since 1992's The Beast.


Although they have not released many albums, God Bless is considered a legendary Indonesian rock band as they are considered to be pioneers of high quality music. During their tour, the band underwent 15 line-up changes, and currently only Ahmed Albar (vocals), Ian Antono (guitar) and Doni Fatah Gagola (bass) are considered active band members.


2000s period


In February 2009, they joined The Kick Andy Show on Metro TV with 5 members: Ahmed Albar (vocals), Ian Antonon (guitar), Donny Fattah (bass), Yaya Moektion (drums) and Abadi Susman (keyboards). . They said that they will release a new album soon. And at the beginning of May 2009, God Bless finally released their latest album, 36.
